Books and information are life, both personally and professionally. I started my librarian career in 2013 when I started working on my MLIS and as a Teen Services Assistant all in the same week. This full immersion in librarianship was stressful but I quickly learned it was the path I’d been looking for. I’ve since worked in Technical Services as and intern, an assistant, and finally as a Tech Services Librarian. In late 2020 an opportunity arose to move across the country to be closer to my family. This meant leaving a job I loved so dearly. Since then, I’ve been working as an independent contractor in library digital media, creating YouTube videos for a former library employer. I plan to eventually offer these services to other libraries that would like to improve their digital presence but perhaps don’t have the staff-power or expertise to do so.
My professional interests include: collection development, digital media, digital patron services, special collections, and staff training.
My personal interests include: making zines, history of books and typography, strength sports, and collecting (and cataloging) vintage cookbooks.
